Anthea – Don’t explain

Anthea began to learn the craft of DJ’ing back in 1997 and in the intervening years has come up through the ranks demonstrating a subtlety and sophistication that most of her male counterparts could only wish for. She has managed to hone a style which varies between house and techno but it is deep, tribal and bass-line fueled yet always sweetly funk-driven and cutting edge.

Anthea’s deck skills have enabled her to share the booth with luminaries like Locodice, Jay Haze, Efdemin, Derrick Carter and ZIP. Holding down residencies and regular guest spots in her home town of London (Phonica / T bar / Faith / Clandestino / Circoloco) was only the beginning, with bookings now coming in further afield at clubs such as Panorama Bar, Ibiza’s Underground & Space on the back of burgeoning career in the studio. She is also now stepping up for her first dates at Fabric.

With a great sense of mood and groove, she has found her feet as a producer and her first efforts have now debuted on key labels Freak n’Chic, Cecille, Phonica Records, Supplement-Facts and Tuningspork which demonstrate the quality on offer and bode well for a successful and inspiring future.
